Sparta-Rock Girls Rugby Falls in State Championship to Grandville, 17-5

It was a great season for the Sparta-Rock girls rugby team as they advanced to the state championship against defending state champion, Grandville.  Sparta gave the Bulldogs a run for the money, but came up short in a 17-5 defeat.  Great season ladies, so much to be proud of!

Sparta/Rock Girls Rugby in State Championship

The Sparta/Rockford girls rugby team defeated Livingston County and Berkley to advance to the championship game on Sunday, November 12 at 1:00 p.m.  Game will take place at Roguewood Elementary in Rockford.  This is the 1st time Sparta has been in a championship game.  Their opponent will be three times state champs, Grandville. Good luck

Sparta Rock Girls Rugby Hands Grand Haven First Loss, 36-5

Sparta Rock Girls Rugby won again this weekend with a 36-5 victory over previously undefeated Grand Haven.   Madam of the Match against Grand Haven was Darby Eck with 3 tries (touchdowns) The win helps the team improve to 3-1 on the season.  This Sunday 10/15 we play MIdwest Girls Rugby Club powerhouse Warsaw Indiana at Roguewood.

Girls Rugby Wins BIG!

The girl’s rugby team beat Lakeview 86-0… the B-side won 41-0…It was a great team victory with numerous try scorers, hard hitting, and great team play. We played 3 times defending state champion Grandville this Sunday at 3 pm at Roguewood Elementary. Admission is free for students.

Girls Rugby Season Comes to A Close

The Sparta Girls Rugby team won game one today in the playoffs by defeating Traverse City 19-0.  In the next round they lost to Berkley by the score of 17-10.  Berkley and Grandville advance to the state finals.  Great season girls.

Sparta High School Girls Varsity Rugby beat Livingston County 38-0

Sunday, October 16, 2016 4:00 PM Livingston County AWAY 0 Sparta High School HOME 38 Game Recap The Girls Rugby team defeated Livingston County 38-0 on Sunday. They will now take their undefeated season and match up with Grandville, who was the State Champions last year. Come out and support the girls this Friday at
